Cameroon

The top African team in FIFA’s rankings, Cameroon have a rich and illustrious history in the World Cup and their current squad will want to impress in South Africa especially after going out in the quarter finals of the African Nations Cup.

Although not quite reaching the heights of their debut competition in Italia ’90 (where they reached the quarter-finals) they have been the best African team in five World Cups.

Success in recent international competitions, however, has been hard to come by but former Rangers manager - Paul le Guen will be hoping this could be the year that the ‘Indomitable Lions’ come of age.

Star Man - Samuel Eto'o

The Inter Milan star has been an international star for Cameroon for 14 years and it was at 14 years of age that Eto'o made his debut for his country.

87 caps later Eto'o is one of the biggest ever stars to come from Africa. He has won thr La Liga and the Champions League, both in his time at Barcelona as well as the African Nations Cup and the Olympics with Cameroon. His blistering pace and cool finishing will see him as the focal point of the Cameroon attack.

After the African nation qualified he bought the whole squad watches worth £29,000, we wonder what he'll buy them if they win the World Cup!

Coach - Paul Le Guen

The former France, Lyon and PSG manager is most famous in Britain for the torrid time he endured as Glasgow Rangers boss in 2006/7 but currently Le Guen is working miracles for Cameroon.

His career as a coach had gone well with successful stints at Rennes and Lyon, where he won 3 Ligue Championships but after a disappointing stint at Rangers and a bitter sweet return to his former club PSG he became Cameroon manager in July 2009.

Making changes to the side, which had only gained one point in qualifying before his appointment, Le Guen drafted in new players and changed the teams captain as they rode up their qualifying group and qualified for the South African World Cup.

One to Watch - Alexandre Song

After signing a new contract with Arsenal in November, Alex Song is on the crest of a wave. His constant improvement and his versatility as both a defender and midfielder has seen him become an integral part of Arsene Wenger's plans.

His international form has also been impressive especially after being named player of the tournament in the 2008 African Nations Cup.

As either an assured midfielder or a rock solid centre-back along side his Uncle Rigobert, Alex Song will be playing to win in South Africa.

Odds to win - 80/1
